Go to the menu on your camera and change the picture quality from HQ to something lower. There should be a choice of settings. Pete.

If you have some sort of photo editing software (often on the CD with the camera) you may be able to reduce the quality of the photo you have taken so it can be sent by email (assuming that is what you want to do). If you just want to save space fine but the bigger the photo, the better the quality, the better the print and the more you can do with it.

The phone picture is a smaller file as the quality may be less and it is a smaller photo. It may also be a different type of file but that's another story. Keep and save the camera photo. It will be better for printing and for reworking. If you are running Windows XP and If you want to resize the photo for any reason without going into photo editing software there is a very good little prog from Microsoft themselves. It is called Image Resizer. After the download and installation it puts an addition to the right click menu when clicked over the picture. It shows 'Resize Pictures'. Just pick the size you want and it creates a resized copy. It is also handy for a quick resize to upload photos to some forums that have size restrictions. You can get it here (safe download). Look down the right hand column of programs for 'Image Resizer' http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/Downloads/powertoys/Xppowertoys.mspx I haven't tried but it may work on other OS's

Also I'd always keep the setting on the camera for a decent quality. Its easier to work with a quality one and who wants a poor photo when you can't go back int time and take it again. The only consideration is that the higher the quality the bigger the file so the fewer you can store on the camera or memory card. If you take it on holiday just take another card with you - or more if you snap happy

or another nice easy image re sizer. right clikk on your photo,in the box that opens, clikk open with paint. when your photo has opened in paint. look at the top and see the word IMAGE. clikk image.scroll down to resize/skew. clikk this . a box will open.. the first 2 words..horizontal and vertical..forget the other 2 same words below. change the 100% to watever you want to size your photo down too. then the same in the vertical box, delete the 100% and ad your own number,it really is very easy, and every 1 has this program on there computer happy re sizing folks
