Recently I heard the original owner of the land upon which patara is built, a Greek Cyp, was given a huge sum of money as a settlement for the land he owned in NC. If this is the case, that would then make Patara a safe investment. Can anyone confirm/deny this?

You would need to speak to the builders, Ozyalcan, but as far as I know, yes this is correct, it is now Turkish Title Deeds

"Ummm I wonder if Medview would do this for their developments???????????? It would certainly restore some faith in them." Don't hold your breath. They seem to be busy wooing Russian and Muslim prospective buyers now - given up on the Brits.

Only safe if registered in the SOUTH and you have an ROC document to prove ownership . I believe that that firestater registered her property with them.

RE msg 5, Oelander from LARNACA: (...) They seem to be busy wooing Russian and Muslim prospective buyers now - given up on the Brits. (...) => "They seem"? Can you prove that? Or is it one more of your troublemaking, poisonous posts?

Get off my back DC. I used the word 'seem' because I based that on what Medview THEMSELVES say. Yes I could give you a link to where Medview in the TRNC are advertising for Russian speaking staff (Turkish not necessary) and their in house news letter where they state they have Russian staff in some of their offices now. And a link to where they proudly announced they were turning their attention to developments for strict muslims with separate pools and facilities in the TRNC as that is where they see the future. And that there has been a lot of interest from the more strict and conservative muslims who want to holiday there. But why don't you go look them up for yourself? It's all out there on the net if you know where to look.

Thanks for coming back to me, just needed what I'd heard to be re-inforced I guess. @ Paul, when coming from Karakum, pass straight over the water fountain roundabout, and at the next roundabout, just before Astro and the 24 hour kebab place do a left. patara is on the right. http://www.ozyalcinconstruction.com/index.php/patara-city.html

Interesting that any note of caution or any posting with FACTS is interpreted by you as poison? No wonder there are so many Brits saying they were not warned of any dangers when so many won't allow a word of warning of any sort to be uttered. I heard plenty of warning words more than 5 or 6 yrs ago.

Hans, they have said in recent turkish newspapers that the "future" depends on non EU buyers!! Wlhich does indeed include Russians, and also Israelies. That was not a poisonous post just someone concerned.........Who is entitled to ask any question they please on a public (although somewhat censored) forum!!!

(...) => No, I won't get off your back, because you are talking rubbish. You present it as "new", but the management looks for new markets, next to the existing but suffering ones, for quite some time now. I know that for sure because I made some maps for the Russian market. I don't have to look it up as you suggest - I know more than I shall write here, because I was involved. And why wouldn't they? If you meant what you wrote you should have said "They are" and not "They seem". |

Paul, The link that is given really doesn't do it justice. I can't give you the forum address, as it is a closed formum for owners only. It is lovely their, with so many facilities, including a very up to date gym, tennis courts and all the other things they say, although I don't think they have got a bank yet.

Stella there was a branch of Iktisatbank there until recently. Guess they couldn't justify having 2 staff for the amount of customers they were likely to have.

Yes, sorry I forgot, there was a bank their for a while, but as you say, they need the customers to keep it going.

rwilson/Msg 19: One would have to be pretty sure that the property is GENUINE pre '74 Turkish Title before fronting up at the (South) Nicosia Land Registry - otherwise one might find oneself inconveniently arrested and detained for an unspecific period of time! Knowing some Brits' penchant for PC, I've attempted to proffer the above advice as euphemistically as possible!

Tenakoutou Shouldnt need to go to south cyprus , but if they want to its easy to check before going. The builder will have paperwork and some will have seen it.,or at the very least their lawyers will have.As one poster has said, their lawyer confirmed the property has been bought from a GC ,therefore one lawyer at least as seen the paperwork.. Also if its no longer exchange then it will be surely registered as now Turkish. Anyone who has had their PTP granted in the last two years will have seen a copy of deed and what the designation is.

How can you find out where the land is situated in the case of the 433 applicants to the IPC? Who knows, your villa might be sitting on the land and you don't know it. I doubt it but you never know.

All property regardless of its status is now classed as TRNC title deeds. There is no longer a distinction between TMD, Exchange or Pre 74 Turkish Title deeds. So how on earth does anyone know what they have purchased?
