The Wednesday market has some really super looking rugs. I t depends what you are looking for as I bought a couple of small ones from Toros whilst I was in Lefkosa one day and found exactly the same ones in Toros in Girne for a total of 26TL more than what I paid.

Most of the modern machine made rugs are gauche and characterless in design and taste, best pay a little more for antique ones. Richard

Sorry, I've never asked the prices, but there is a shop on the main street in Lefkoşa - the main tourist walk from Accessorize walking towards the Sophia Mosque. They hang some lovely rugs outside - shaggy style, a bit like a peg rug, sort of Art Deco style. They look very classy.

There is a place under the castle walls but not sure if it opens till the summer time. Go deep inside and dig into the piles of rugs there - then haggle like made, you never know your luck.

Hello Sids, Lambousa market is held at the Chateau Lambousa every Saturday morning. The Chateau Lambousa is in Lapta. Coming from Kyrenia drive throught the Hotel "strip" and take the first left after LA Resort. Take the next left and you're on the Lambousa drive.
