LEFKOSA (A.A) - The Higher Board of Elections of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) announced on Saturday temporary candidates for the Presidency of the country.



The names of the presidential candidates, based on the timing of their applications filed, are as follows:

-Mustafa Kemal Tumkan (independent)

-Dr. Dervis Eroglu (National Unity Party)

-Arif Salih Kirdag (independent)

-Mehmet Ali Talat (current TRNC President & an independent candidate)

-Zeki Besiktepeli (independent)

-Ayhan Kaymak (independent)

-Serap Tezcan (independent)

-Tahsin Ertugruloglu (independent)



Citizens of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus may file official objections to the presidential candidates until 1700 hours on Sunday, March 14.

The presidential election will take place on April 18.
