| Can anyone confirm that an estate agent can only charge UPTO a MAXIMUM of 6% commission when selling your property, which I believe is the maximum percentage set by the TRNC government. I ask this because I was recently asked for 10%, (although no contract has been signed with the agent), which when added to the lowest price I can sell my property for, it lost me the sale. |

| As far as I know you are correct, but even if incorrectly informed, I can't think anyone in their right mind would consider an agent charging 10%. This is NOT U.K, and even over there one may find organisations charging as little as a couple of hundred pounds to sell your property (if you invest with them etc). With the price of property here being less than it was and the charges going up, it means that the on ly people making money are the lawyers and estate agents! I would suggest that you go to a different estate agent and warm everyone else who this overpriced agent is. Can't think there would be much custom for he/she/it. |
