Hasan's (lovejoy taxi) funeral

What an amazing turn out for Hasan our local taxi driver in lapta for many years. I have never seen a local funeral with so many people including english friends, which shows what a great man he was. Hasan died on friday after suffering a heart attack a few days ago. May you rest in peace my dear young friend.

Received a phone call only a couple of hours ago that he had died.

Devastated to have lost someone we called a friend.



He arranged my driving lessons with a friend of his who is a driving instructor and I will always remember the day I passed my driving test.



We booked Hasan to take us to a restaurant to celebrate and when he arrived he insisted that I drove his merc!

There was Hasan and my husband in the back and me driving his taxi....still laugh to this day that he trusted me with his beloved car.

Helped us out in so many ways when we first came out here as non drivers.





Will be dearly missed by both my husband and myself.

One of life's true gents.

Steve,Top bloke,So glad you went to his funeral.The last time i used him my fare was 20ytl,he was caught speeding bringing us back to the Ravine and fined 100ytl.He kept saying sorry.

Can't believe it. Just found out from this board. Loved the guy, would only use him for ferrying my daughters to and from town. He used to wait for them, get them on board and take them home both my girls used to

refer to him a hubby. Wish I knew earlier, I would have attended. Have to go and tell the wife and girls now.

How sad. RIP Hasan, god bless you.

I once played him up in the Ravine with my new phone.The ringtone was set to whistle Taxi,He wanted me to get him one from the u/k.RIP Saffi.

I knew he had had a heart attack, but i had no idea he had died...this is so so sad! He was the very first taxi man i met here....and was absolutely lovely....he will be sorely missed....

I was at his funeral, what a lovely respectful affair... He was a beautiful soul and will be remembered by me and my family with love and respect always........x

Was he buried in Lapta? Would like to pay our respects. Remember talking to him only a month ago regards dear Tom and also Tolga.

Hasan is buried in Lapta Cemetry, up near the Dolmaci farm. As you enter the cemetry the grave is located at the far end of the 1st row on your left, nearest to the mountains. Lovely man, sadly missed by our family.
