| I lived in New Orleans for several years. "Entergy" advised us to set our central air conditioner thermostats to 78 degrees whilst home and 80 degrees when away (25/26 Celsius). This suggestion was based on cost savings. However, I found the house to be more comfortable around 72 (22 Celsius). Every room had ceiling fans as well to help circulate the air. Here is a link with more information. http://www.entergy-neworleans.com/news_room/newsrelease.aspx?NR_ID=360 |

| I find that in the Summer, when you are wearing lighter clothes, perhaps a shirt and shorts, the house is quite comfortable at 25/26 degrees C. In the Winter, when you tend to wear heavier clothing, jumpers etc.., I find that the house is plenty warm enough at 21/22 degrees C. I suppose that if you wore the same clothes Summer and Winter, you could have the house at the same temperature all year round You'd smell a bit, mind... |
