I have asked before with no answers, however Marky Mark was very helpful. I have bought a BSkyB 2600C1 with latest upgrade to give to some friends as a gift for their past help. I will be out beginning June and would like some feed back on what size dish to install, the 4.2m would be to intrusive. I have Icemans number, supplied by Mpower of 6 who, it would seem is very competent, to install dish. What size dish 1.8m or 2.8m would be best suited and what programmes could be expected through either/or. Has any one got an approximate price for an installation???.

Appreciate your advice.

Basically, neither a 1.8/2.8m will get you BBC 1/2/4/4 or ITV2/3/4 - but you'd get ITV 1 and lots of stuff via the red interactive button on BBC news 24

Can't advise re installation costs - each place is different :( - sorry

Freesat hd will not work in Northern Cyprus without a change in software. Try the Sattelite Shop in Lapta as Achgi will be able to give you an answer I believe his instalation costs for a 4.2 are approximately £2200.

Freesat needs signal from Eurobird as well as Astra

Great advice from M6 and Nickspain. The unit I have bought is not HD, so should be ok. I have also bought a satellite signal detector and signal booster ,as it seems the slightest shift in a base can cause huge disruption to signal quality, which makes sense when you vector in the angle to distance ratio. If any one needs one, can purchase for you at about £7. Will have to rethink the 4.2m option, as this appears to be the need to have requirement.
