It was 25 euro when i went over in April, you need a ' tax, or mot certificate ' before you can buy the insurance and you can only get these from the Metahan crossing.

When the insurance was only £10 CYP per month the Third Party public liability was limited to 15,000 CYP. now it's €50,000 consequently an increase to reflect this has been imposed.

To get your MOT certificate (which is free) you must go via Metehan so that vehicle inspector can glance out from the cabin and give it the OK... to this end you must go during office open hours which are 7:30 - 14:00 I think. You must have the car's log book with you too.

The insurance booths are open much longer...

Hilda, Everyone has assumed that it is car insurance that worries you is it that or travel insurance?

If it is travel insurance and you still have a UK (EU) address you should have some cover from your EHIC but you might also want to top that up with extra travel insurance (which is available).
