It was on Sky Lunchtime News. He is to sail on a ship carrying aid and supplies flanked by Turkish Destroyers. They also had a slimy Israeli spokes person saying they would not go along with "sabre rattling" and that all their operations were justified. They have also boarded an Irish ship heading for Gaza again in International waters but this time more low key with more tact. It is now being sailed into Ashdod by the I.D.F. Nobody murdered this time.

I just hope that he is bluffing otherwise there will be a confontation and Turkey will be in violation of entering Israeli waters. So will loose all the respect and kudos they have earned- mind you the Israeli PR machine is watering that down daily with more and more evidence about these'Activists'. Agreed about wanting entry into Europe it will be a deffo non starter now if he continues with this stupid plan. All the time Turkey has to be careful as did they not invade Iraq in order to chase the PPK!! This really could be a nightmare scenario!!

No.1 - not on Sky News website, it's a rumour I believe, put out by Lebanese media No.2 - if the Turkish navy did go to Gaza they would not have to enter Israeli territory, only territory commandeered by Israel

Did anyone else just receive a 'blanket' e-mail from Nige's forum? It states that Turkey have deployed troops, fighter bombers, etc. etc. to its military bases in TRNC and Ercan airport. Looked on sky news and website - nothing. Could this also be a rumour, put out by Lebanese media?

It's no rumour and no gossip. It was reported on Sky News 501 at 12p.m and the comments were put to an Israeli spokesman by the studio interviewer.

what was reported? Something like, "we hear from the Lebanese media that Turkey is going to..." and the Israeli spokesperson replied, "we haven't heard that but if..." This story is too big not to be on Reuters and it ain't there.

just watched Sky News and the top story is the Israelis boarding Rachel Corrie. Mark Regev, the Israeli spokesperson, said nothing about Turkey.

| Like most of you guys, I believe the Turkish military generals are more sensible than to allow any armed conflict with Israel - Erdogan obviously feels though that such threats (and possible saber-rattling) will increase his popularity in Turkey. But, hey Wanderer, are you sure that the Hatay area is "a lot closer" to Israel. I looked on the map and it would seem that North Cyprus and Hatay are about the same distance from Northern Israel, and as for Gaza it looks as though Northern Cyprus is quite a bit closer. | It cannot be true as Turkey are not that stupid. Everyone must know by now that you dont play Call My Bluff with Israel. The implications are horrific especially as Israelis forces would not lose a war to any Country who use conventional weapons. Michael |

Message 21 - exactly - who, in their right mind, would attempt to infiltrate Israeli waters? You don't play wargames with Israel - far from it. Stewart - I think we all know who is running the middle east, and a 'show off' extravanga would be absolute madness. Surely Turkey are not that bloody stupid. As CJtill said, no-one would wage a war with the Israelis. Not quite sure what you mean about 'yank prank' about Israeilis doing their own thing? I was always under the impression that Israel was "yank" backed? I stand to be corrected.

Re 24 'so do we just sit back...' You are right, catalkoykid. Get involved, come to the Gaza port and check every cargo ship. Btw, have you heard about the EU border assistance mission that fled the border for justified fear of being killed or kidnapped?
