| Hello, I am working in Nicosia (Greek part) and currently living in Larnaca. I am seriously thinking about moving from Larnaca to Kyrenia though. Anybody has got experience with this - living north, working south? Does anybody know how difficult is it to use my car bought in south in the northern part? Do I have to "import" it and pay custom and VAT? Thank you Irena |

| customs could ask you to pay the duty on the car if you tell them you are living here. if you dont have any residency and are moving south north each day working,of course your car is going to get documented each day,its possible some 1 some time may question the car and your reasons for going back and forth. If you are only planning on staying 1 year,European people comming here with a car are normally allowed the car for 1 year as a tourist or for as long as the road tax last for that is displayed,up to 1 year, but i dont know about a car from the south as being a tourist for 1 year. Its a minefield, rules change by the day and from person to person! |
