£50 would get you from Larnaca airport to Kyrenia....about an hour and 20 minutes!

atwister58, you sure this was an official taxi? How did you get the taxi - from a taxi rank, hotel phoned it for you, hailed it? There is a Turkish Cypriot Consumer Association here which would be very interested in your case.

A taxi from Larnaca Airport to Girne is about that, I paid £40.00 last time I came from Larnaca to kyrenia in March this year.

It may be that you got a Greek Cypriot Taxi from Larnaca and they know how to charge. In future best if you can arrange for a taxi from the North to collect you from Larnaca, charge to Girne £40 to £50. When you are returning agree a price in advance, should be a maximum of £50.00

I always used birdrentacar when I first bought my property they are very good but they really charge for their transfers from Larnaca. Found aone rentals do the transfers for £25.00 each way and rental cars are the same price and just as good as bird.
