if my dad who has just moved to northern cyprus buys a car can he drive down to larnaca to pick up family rom the airport?

Yes he needs to buy insurance to drive in the South and MOT cert all at the crossing point, no problems at all, ins cost 25 euros for a 5 seater car.

Michelle3012 I think it is tax exemption not MOT that you need. At the Greek border, you will need car docs and valid MOT cert from North, you get a certificate for a year FOC, then you go next door to the insurance booths to get insurance.
