HI,



Just about to book flights to Istanbul, costs of flight to Ataturk very expensive, so thinking of going by Pegasus to SG, but believe airport is quite a way from city.



Has anyone any ideas of cost of taxi, and length of journey.

We took a taxi from the Blue Mosque area to SG one afternoon in December.

About 30 minutes drive in a fast taxi - but a lot of traffic on the road so expect delays.

More expensive than I thought - cannot remember exact figure but about £30.

There is an airport bus which I would consider next time if arriving at SG.

I think 30 minutes would be best case scenario depending on the day and the time of day (especially if the football is on). We hired a car from SG when we had 6 hours to kill before flying on and drove into Istanbul. The car cost about £30.

You could always do public transport.



10YTL by Havas Bus to Taksim. Journey time 50 mins. Buses run regular and are white with Havas printed on the side. Please ask the staff which bus for Taksim as they goto other destinations too.



Or,

E-10 To Kadikoy (2.5YTL each), pay on the bus, ferry (1.3YTL) to Eminounu or Karakoy then Tram (1.3YTL) to Kabatas then Fenicular (0.9YTL) to Taksim. Journey time 2 hours

E-3 to 4 Levent (2.5YTL) pay on bus then Metro (1.3YTL) to Taksim. Journey time 1.5 hours

They run from just outside the terminal building to the right. They will either be green or, occassionally, blue in colour and have their numbers clearly displayed on the front and side of the bus.



All prices quoted are for single, individual journeys.
