Car Insurance in North Cyprus?

About to purchase a car in TRNC. The vehicle is on TRNC plates and taxed. Getting mixed "vibes" about the insurance.

Is it the car that is insured [thus enabling others to drive it] OR is it same as UK where nominated names are on the insurance?

Would appreciate any input.

You can have the policy to suit your needs, just as the UK. Just have a chat with any agent and they'll tell you how much it will cost. Then go and get a second and third opinion before opting for the one that suits you and your budget.

Can recommend Ezlem Enterprises - Ferdiye - 0533 868 0714 - she is next door to the Hurdeniz shop before the Lefkosa roundabout. She is very good and competitive on price. She has always said that Fully Comp Car Insurance policies are for any driver.

If you purchase the car and it has insurance allready on it you can use that insurance until it runs out.

Firstly you have to insure the car to the minimum required @3rd party

after that you add on depending on your needs and cash flow

you get what you pay for.

I shopped around a lot for our insurance and ended up with Türk Bank - best priced. I was told you just insure the car, not the individually named people. But as mentioned above, check if there's any unexpired insurance you can use us first.

I agree she is very good knows her insurance car and buildings This point is very important she is British with a Cypriot father early life in the UK so the same understanding of English which is important in a technical area price is good but not everything

turkbank car insurance

3rd party 230 lira

add on top up- covers you for 2.500 lira damage to your car in a two car accident even if its your fault 100 lira

full cover for vehicles less than 8 years old only

when buying a car you need to change the ownership 250 lira

then you need to go to the insurance company prove you own the car and have the insurance changed to your name if you dont there is no insurance on the vehicle in the owners name

all policys are for the car any driver with permission of owner
