Darts - Winter, Whole Committee resigning next week. Any Comments?

I see the whole of the winter darts committee plan to resign enmasse at next weeks AGM. They were all pretty quick to oust Steve Trentfield as Chair Person about 18 months ago. Divided opinions probably regarding Steve, but he put all his time and effort into the league. Just posting topic to see if anyone knows why the whole committee is resigning?

Does this mean the winter darts league will be a non starter, west of Girne, as it appears east of Girne they are doing ther eown thing. Someone must know what is going

come on people this is supposed to be a good night out. politics taking over again. trentfield no loss bring back rita. when she started this league it was all about having fun. please please please can we get back to having fun and stop taking our selves so seriously. surely that is what we have come to this island to do. i for one will not join in the darts this year until the serious people get a life.

Anyone looking for a game of darts EAST of Girne,

can call into Stevie's Bar, Küçük Erenköy.

Every Wednesday night @ 7pm onwards, no team yet,

just a throw at the board, winner stays on,

maybe a game of blind killer, cricket etc later on.

New "BDO - Winmau Blade III board" in use

good fun night out

Bring your own darts, if you can.

They should have resigned last year,just ask any of the Liaisons team how they shafted them,changing rules to suit themselves !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The reason that they are trying to start an East Girne ' sports league ' is due to the travelling. An extra hour or so can be added to a games night if you travel from Chatalkoy,Ozankoy etc to Lapta for example.

At the moment it includes Pool, Darts and if anyone wants to start a Crib, Dominoes, bar skittles league it will all come under the same umbrella.

I want to emphasize ... The traveling is the reason for the East Girne sports league and for no other reason.



PS. A meeting is being held in the 5 Fingers resturant on Thursday 9th Sep at 8.00pm to register teams and to get things of the ground.

Hope to see those interested there.

Sorry to see there are problems in the original league, but as carndi says, the new league that has been formed is just to cut out the travelling and to get back to the more social style of night out that existed when the first leagues were formed.

Any body interested east of Kyrenia is more than welcome. Meeting at the Five fingers, Ozankoy Thursday 9th Sept 8.00pm
