Clearly some of the more financially astute on CY 44 will be up to speed on these things, but for the unanitiated the financial press have been pushing Turkey as an Emerging Economy A good way to invest is through a low charging ETF. I have been following one ITKY.L. NOW THIS IS NOT FINANCIAL ADVICE but for those who follow these things a very interesting scenario. Check it out!! wynyardman

And for those who do not know what an ETF is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exchange-traded_fund It's all very simple Hats off to you Wyn if you can make head or tail of this. I think I will stick to my stocks portfolio and my odd dabble into the currency exchange market Paul

Turkey is absoultely an emerging economy - you only have to look at how their exchange rate has remained stable through the recent economic times (where interest rates have remained at a higher level). They seem to have avoided recession like the rest of Europe and the US. ETFs are a rapidly growing phenomina - mostly in the US, but are emerging as offshore investment funds from Luxembourg and Ireland ......
