Does anyone know the true cost of residency in Turkey, someone mentioned that they were told it is 5000TL per year.

Thought I'd ask the question as we could in theory be under Turkish rule soon once the talks have finally finished after all Erdogan keeps telling us there will be a solution one way or another by the end of the year.

For students it's free. Otherwise there are yearly bonds that are paid and the amount differs according to nationality. You can find the information at http://yabancilar.iem.gov.tr/ikamet.html, I believe for British citizens last year it was around 400TL but I can't understand a word they're trying to say on their new website!
