A new channel on digiturk CH 78 will show premiership games!!



As they now have a dedicated channel they should show more games this season!!

hi

yes this new channel is called spormax and is a dedicated channel for the premireship and will broadcast three games today arsenal v wba - boro v spurs - sunderland v liverpool and two games tomorrow chelsea v porstmouth - man u v newcastle

so no premireship on the fox channel or fox sports and even more bad news this spormax channels you can only receive on the spor packet which costs 84.80ytl a month but you also get lig tv which shows the turkish league too

Don't forget last year Fox Sports in Digiturk package also showed Premiere League games but due to the limitations in their contract with Premiere League games were only available to customers in Turkey!!!

well there is usually 1 contract for Cyprus so I should think they will be shown here, but yes this is subscription channel and you will have to pay for it!

That is not quite true... I got all the matches shown on Fox Sports for the whole of last season... I live below Bellapais

Hi all, wish I'd seen this thread yesterday as I have just renewed my Digiturk subscription and the only reason I have it was for the premiership football! I'm certainly not going to pay for the Spormax package at 84ytl amonth, so does anyone know what Digiturks cancellation terms are? I will go to the Digiturk office on Monday but they are not always the most helpful when it comes to asking for your money back!

Due to their contract with Premiere League last year,(during footbal matches) Digiturk decided to black out FoxSports on cards issued for use outside Turkey.

Digital smartcards can be easily manipulated by the providers at any time.

It is possible your card was either issued in Turkey or it somehow got treated as one which was.

it does not matter if you have renewd your contract, you can cancel it but make sure it is before the 3rd of each month that is their standard billing date



iceman is correct the only way you could only have recived fox sports and spormax now is with a digiturk card issued from turkey the reason for this is because digiturk cyprus comes under the umbrella of digiturk europe this is because of mr murdoch which has sewn up the rights for the premireship

there are ways of getting digiturk turkey cards but the problem is when you cancel it you have to return the card and the box back to turkey otherwise i would rent out these cards and boxes out to anyone in cyprus but fear how the cards and boxes will be returned back to me

I am working with 2 digiturk boxes both of which could not receive the fox sports matches last season, both are showing the Spormax game as we speak so I would say that a Cyprus card will work for the new Spormax package.

I dont want to sound too pessimistic but last year FoxSports also worked in the begining of the season..The change was made by Digiturk after few weeks..

My card was the original card provided when I took out the Digiturk package in Feb 2006 in Girne... No-one has touched the card since it was installed...

A friends was scrambled when the match was due to start ... But a neighbour of theirs who doesn't live here only for holidays worked , so they borrowed theirs & watched all the matches too... Definitely no tampering with cards...

I think you have misunderstood my post.I did not say your card was tampered with.What i meant was either your card was issued in Turkey or it was treated by Digiturk as a card to be used in Turkey.In any case it was a fortunate mistake by Digiturk on your behalf.

Thanks Ukturk, I paid for the 12 months in advance when I renewed Digiturk as it's cheaper than paying monthly. I'm hoping that doesn't effect my rights to cancel considering that I have renewed on the basis of receiving the same package as last year when the EPL was included.
