Reverting back to residency after work permit

Has anyone any experience of going back to obtaining residency after having had a work permit? Is it just a case of re-applying as one would do every year?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi your work permit needs to be cancelled and this needs to be stamped across the work permit in your passport. Your employer may do this for you. Once this is done you can then apply for residency as usual but make sure to take a photo copy of the cancelled work permit as part of the paperwork when you go

OK Thanks! The work permit has been cancelled at immigration but not yet in the passport, the employer was supposed to inform him when they were going to cancel it, but didn't and found out yesterday whilst trying to obtain my residency! Headache time all round!!
