Agree with Barno. Really really good night. More of a stand up comedy show than a quiz!!

I am not a prude by any means but what a disgusting performance by the quizmaster - admittedly heavily and constantly riled by a table of "tourists" - but no-one wants to sit and listen to continuous swearing and foul language on what was supposed to be a "fun quiz". I certainly will never go again nor will the table of flour who walked out half way through the evening.

Spot on Poodledog. I went the previous week for about an hour (not taking part in the quiz) and the MC was amusing - yesterday was way over the top - like you I will never go again....... At this rate the bar will go the way of all things, and fairly soon. Come back Pete and Sandra, now they really do know how to run a quiz.

Totally agree with messages 5 and 6.This was my first quiz at Lea Daz and I shan't be going again. Both my husband and I are ex Police and can take crude jokes and bad language but this was just unnecessary.

Horses for courses. It was a bit over the top last night, but Rob was under a lot of heckling from the "tourists". I dont really think it was that bad. Think some of you need to lighten up a bit, the whole point of the night is to have a laugh, the quiz is just to get you involved. Yes it was a bit blue last night . but if you go for a "Quiz" its not for you. Is there any need to slate it just becasue its not your taste. To say "the bar will go the way of all things" is just rubbish. Not the best night for leadaz, not all their fault, but do we really have to destroy what is a good honest bar??

As I stated previously, I agree that Rob was under a lot of pressure from one particular table but it is a poor entertainer who has to result to filth to see him through an evening. The last thing we want to see is a "good honest bar" destroyed, but the evening was advertised as a "Quiz" and that's what most people had gone there for. This bar, like many others, will only survive if it appeals to and looks after the local residents who will support it in the winter months when the tourists are not here - not that we are inundated with them anyway - so unless it is setting out to be a raucous venue, maybe the owners should re-appraise their overall market and plan their entertainment accordingly.

Incidently, I don't believe I need to "lighten up". I enjoy a wide spectrum of live entertainment and having been involved for the past 30 years in the hotel, pub, restaurant trade I have seen the good, the bad and the ugly and believe me, its only the good that succeed.

Re message 8 you are entirely correct. There is no need to slate something just because it isn't to your taste. I had family members at the quiz who had an excellent night and as usual too many of the comments on this forum way over the top.

I agree entirely with message 9. There is a time and place for filth and swearing (i can swear with the rest of them) but surely a "fun family quiz night" is not one of them. Have been "quizzing" here at different venues for the last eight years and all has been good clean fun. If you want smut, try a night club!

We wont be going again either. We have not been in there for quite a while and thought we would give it a go, but apart from the foul language (I'm not a prude either, but it is supposed to be a quiz), the place was dirty and the toilets disgusting.

I do not swear nor do I allow swearing in my company. But having worked in people orientated places under various circumstances (including Bars and UK nightclubs) for 50 years and I recognise that others do not live by the same 'standards' I do, nor do they behave the same as I do - HOWEVER - I would not expect them to. I was in 2 other bars last week and speaking to very decent people who were 'F' ing and Blinding as a normal part of their conversation - One from London and One from Scotland - I pointed out that I was not happy with bad language-but it continued (not in a nasty way - just part of their 'normal vocabluary') I was at the quiz on Tuesday and Rob ensured that there was no swearing during the time there were youngsters in the bar and he pointed this out. I was more annoyed and left because of the 'tourists' for spoiling my night not Rob. He tried to control them and stop them from disrupting the quiz but they would not give up. They will have won as everyone else left.

I agree with the comments about radio and TV. How many of you watch films which have swearing (foul language) in them. I won't watch them as I feel that it is totally uncessary to add language like this to a film. Even pop records have the F word in them.

I know that in other company my (grown up - in their 40's) use bad language - but not in my presence or my home.

Well at least we now have a good idea of what went on. Still why let the truth get in the way of a good slagging.

So now we have gone from swearing to the "place was dirty and the toilets disgusting" How petty. If you didnt like it why not just pay your bill and leave. The night was ruined by the "tourists" who seemed intent on stealing the show. There was no swearing while the children were there and I think it was just pure frustration on Robs part in the end. No excuse, but it wasnt like that the week before so maybe that says something. As per normal on here big overeaction and a place getting destroyed by people who only seem to post one side of the story.

As usual some of these comments are getting out of hand. Let's stick to the facts. Yes the "tourists" were the cause of a lot of the back-chat and Rob was initially trying to control it but he lost it completely!

I had refrained, for obvious reasons, from repeating his foul language on my posting but for those who were not there but seem to be commenting as if they were, phrases like: "Come and s**k my d**k"; "w**k me o**" and " if you get the answer wrong you can come and rub your t**s in my face" are not condusive to any form of open public entertainment, let alone a quiz night.

I wish the bar every success and I genuinely feel embarrassed for the owners, but to protect their own business and future I think they should take a very hard look at what entertainment they provide - as I am sure the majority of quiz loving ex-pats will be giving the place a wide berth until things change.

I've only been in the bar a couple of times but the place including the toilets was immaculate. I dare say it was at the start of the evening until a load of incontinent over 60 expats with 5TL pocket money descended on the place.

No I won't, I will be there next week and I hope the tourists won't be there.

They were pretentious ex-pats who thrive on attention and did not like it when they were out of the lime-light. Whenever attention was given to other groups/tables - they started again, even to the point where Rob was unable to continue to include others. As a teacher I have had to control groups some teenagers and some adults and I agree Rob did not handle the situation at all well - but then again I don't suppose he has been trained to deal with distruptive elements within a group.

He told them that they were disqualified, but that was like an ASBO - it just made them worse as they had nothing to loose- so they spoilt it for everyone else.

It would be a shame to spoil a great pub and a great night out as a result of some tourists who have only been there once. I go there regularly and it is a very friendly pub, with good staff. It is very clean (including the toilets). Also I appreciate the fact that although they are Welsh they speak to and are friendly with everyone.

When I was in the Stumble Inn, I was not spoken to, it appeard that (like Zeki's) if you have a cockney accent you get served quicker, the staff talk to you and the rest of us - wait!!!!

If I ever owned a pub I would make sure all quiz loving ex pats were barred.

Message 27.

I'm sure this will come as a huge disappointment to any 'quiz loving ex pats' who may be reading this; that they will be denied your obvious hosting skills.

And no - I'm neither quiz loving nor an ex-pat.

I hadn't been on the Rock for 2 years and dropped by Tue Oct 19 about 7pm for a couple of wet ones and departed after a fantastic fun evening just before midnight.

My sides were splitting with laughter.

Anybody offended by this should maybe stop indoors and get the forking knitting out.

Many thanks and all the very best to Daz, Leah, Laura and of course Rob the Gob.

Hope to see you soon.
