The Wednesday Cooks Market is now open at the Ozankoy Bookshop.

Local home cooks are preparing and selling such traditional foods as sausage rolls, scones, fruit cakes, quiche, pies, cornish pasties, pickles, chutneys and pre-ordered ready meals such as lasagne. Christmas orders are now being taken.

The Tabletop Cooks Market is held every Wednesday 11 am to 2 pm at The Ozankoy Bookshop. The Bookshop is situated next to the mosque, in the heart of Ozankoy Village, near to Bellapais just 3 miles east of Kyrenia.

You can order individually designed cards, play the local lottery and buy gifts and local artwork and handicrafts.

Take the Girne-Catalkoy road until you come to China Bazaar, next to Erdeners supermarket. Take turning opp China Bazaar, go up road, when you come to bend take left bend and then left turn, so in other words keep left all the way up. You will come to a crossroads, garage (mechanical) on left, mirrors on wall to your right, keep an eye for cars, go straight up, there is parking next to house shell on right, bookshop is in front of you on left corner. If you come into village past the mosque on your right, next is a park and bus stops on right, bookshop in front of you.

Was a good turn out for first week, pastry chefs goods were delicious. Next wednesday there should be cakes as well as savouries, pate jams and preserves, and hopefully home made burgers, to die for. Any more budding chefs out there, ideal opportunity to earn some pocket money and meet interesting people?

Thanks to all for coming and to the wonderful cooks with their lovely food. You sold out so quickly! I know that you are bringing lots more next week and look forward to that. I just wanted to say that we have decided to make the event a fund raiser for the Rehabilitation Centre every week. The rents for the tables will go to them.

Thanks to everyone for coming - thats another 50tl for the Cheshire Home. It was a lovely atmosphere with lots of people staying to have a cuppa and a chat in this lovely sunshine (what fantastic autumn sunshine we are having). It was great to meet Maggie from BRT radio and its certainly something to look forward to hearing the programme later. Two new tables offering lovely food, next week we are expecting someone with take away curries! Look forward to seeing you all then. Our number at the Bookshop is 0392 8152853 should you need any information.
