Is anyone prepared to recommend someone for some building work. My permission should be through soon so in theory I'm ready to go. However, the price just tendered is excessive. I'm not building Buckingham Palace and only require some competant guys to work for a fair price.

Initially the work is to build the walls to a second storey extension using stone. Admittedly the access is a little restricted and scaffolding will be needed but to someone interested it should be a decent job.

My friend had a beautiful stone house built by Ali (the builder associated with Sunbeams).He has built several and all look beautiful.Her place is cool in summer and warm in winter due to the thickness of the stone. I'm sure if you contact Sunbeams they will be able to show you some of the stone houses built by Ali so you can see the quality of his work.
