I have used http://skypark-cyprus.com and didn't have a problem. I believe there are others.

You can risk it - but who is going to pay out malicious damage costs - certainly not any insurance company in Cyprus!

Did you read the recent newspaper article about the TC artist girl, who had her new car trashed in a main car park in the centre of Nicosia? There were CCTV cameras and car park attendants - the GC police refused to do any investigation.

There seems to have been a resurgence of malicious damage to TRNC plated cars recently.

We have had our car damaged twice at Larnaca and we only left the car in the car park while picking people up. The number plate was pulled off and the second time a car drove down the side of ours damaging both doors.

Most insurance companies now in the North offer coverage for the south.

Do you still have to purchase insurance at the border, Yes as the border insurance covers Grrrreek cars and not ours.

The insurance you purchase on this side does the opposite. So for example if your car was damaged, you'd come back to the North and claim on this side. I was also informed you dont need a police report from the other side for the claim to be processed.

NOW, your QUESTION.

Why don't you drive to the border, park your car here on the North at Metahan or get a cab to the border, and once you've crossed there is a shuttle service running every hour that takes you to the airport.

COST 7Euro.

Drops you outside the airport next to the doors and you can pick it up again as you come out the airport when you come back.

I have left my car at larnaca many times and have had no problems one year i coverd it up only for it to blow the cover to the other side of the park when i arrived back the cover was in the store room.

Also some of the skypark staff are british. so don't listen to the scare mongers and have a nice holiday.

I have left my car at Larnaca many times.

I have used several airport parks but the best lately is QUIK PARK,

http://www.quikpark.com.cy tel 70002011

They have charged me only E3 PER DAY the last two occasions I have used them.

Works out much cheaper than two taxi trips.

Fully secure 24 hour service

about 1 mile from the new airport. English staff.

If you ever go from PAPHOS recommed PARK AND GO.

Why fly from LArnaca in the first place. You think it works out cheaper but then you start adding up the petrol, insurance, car parking will my car be safe!? parking at Ercan is only 5 lira per day or weekly works out cheaper. I really do not understand it.....

Park 2 Fly are excellent. No problems with Turkish Cypriot plated vehicles. They happy to do business with you. It's nice to know the car is safe and sound. Give it a go.

I take your point Girne, but Larnaca have flights going to where I want to be.

So it's either a fairly simple transfer this side or a horrendous one on the other end.

Not to mention being £135 per person cheaper. I tried Pegasus but was not prepared to mortgage the house for the privilege.

People fly from Larnaca because not everyone wants to go to London area.

Monarch, Thomas COOK , Larnaca to Manchester or Newcastle can be as low as 50 GBP. each way.
