There is also a framer in the Old Turkish quarter in Girne, he makes them to measure and is very reasonable. He works out of a little shop which is on the left and just before the Sele restaurant if you are heading away from town

Gurel Gurzap is the guy I use. He is very good and very reasonably priced. He is l ocated in Girne. At the roundabout where you would turn left to go to HSBC (if you are coming from Alsancak direction) Turn right instead take the second left and he is at the end of that short road on the right hand side. Sometimes he is out delivering so his number is: 05338 647 141

There is a local and his wife who offer a picture framing service at the Saturday Lambousa Market and he might well be the gentleman mentioned by Catatonia above as we have visited his studio in the old quarter also. (private terrace house). His frames for approx A4 size, including inner mounts, are usually about 35 TL and up to approx 50 TL for very large ones. As his wife produces art work also, as does the Wildebeest (bless her), their advice regarding sizes, colours, and mounts is excellent as is the quality of the work. Not sure if these are competitive prices but to us they seem good as the frames always greatly enhance the pictures. He is also reliable in as much as a promised delivery at the market the following Saturday, for us, has always been honoured. He can deliver more quickly if you are willing to collect from his home.

Hussein, the 'turkish quarter' framer referred to in message 3, can also be found at Lambousa market on a Saturday. I can thoroughly recommend him.

I am an artist and Gurzap Huseyin has been my picture framer for the last 4 yrs. He always does a first rate job at a very reasonable price. As stated in the other posts, you can find his workshop in the old Turkish quarter or catch him at Lambousa market. Pam Schofield
