Does anyone know of any hotels in TRNC that are family friendly and do not cater for the casino market. I'm reading a lot of negative comment on review sites about surly/rude reception/door staff in a lot of hotels offering casino facilities. In particular the very large hotels in Famagusta are reported as being "rip-off" prices with "tired" facilities. I'm just looking for a hotel where my family and I can spend a week without having to organise self-catering. Thanks

Mountain Viewon the sea side of the road out of Kara.... I have nothing to do with it, but everyone who I have spoken to that has stayed there seems to have been satisfied. Its certainly family friendly I would say as Ive seen loads of youngsters there in the summer when Ive been to a meeting.

I would recommend the Pia Bella in Girne. Although it DOES have a Casino attached, this is not intrusive and does not affect the general ambience of the hotel which is a good standard, great meals and family friendly. I have stayed there on a couple of occasions and used the facilities numerous times and received excellent service. It is in a great central location also.

agree with cronos, no problem with the Casino next door, just returned after 5 weeks you wouldn't know it was there. The staff are great with families.

We always enjoyed our stays at the Sempati. I have found them very kind & accommodating. Not 5 star, but comfortable and reasonably priced.

My recommendations would be Mountain View - Sue and her family are very welcoming and create a relaxing holiday with comfortable rooms or bungalows. If you want to be more central Kyrenia, then Pia Bella with its lovely gardens and pools would be my choice. Both offer full catering so need to pack the Marigolds!!

Altinkaya Hotel is also a nice family hotel. The owner of that and the Pia bella are business partners.

The 'Ship Inn' has consistently good reports and has an excellent 'family orientated' lay-out.
