Looking to install wireless in Bahceli area and thinking of two recommended options- http://www.myprivatenetwork or Slingbox. Can anyone confirm knowledge and experience of either as would like to stream Uk Tv and sports to Villa TV via network as well as e mail and Skype?

I'm in the same boat as you, I would like to use a slingbox from the UK to my villa in NC but it still seems to be

early days with this system and the internet in NC is a bit hit and miss and from what I can work out from past posts but apart from the DutchCrusada who slings his TV from Denmark no one else has had much luck with it



I'm coming to NC in April so will have to make my mind up soon, the best TV seems to be a 4.2mtr satellite

dish which is the size of a van and cost about £2,500, let me know how you get on

We have my private view and it does exactly what it says on the packet! If you have any problems with it, they answer e-mails immediately and are very helpful. At a fiver a month, it's a good deal.

IF you have a decent feed in Cyprus - Slingbox is working quite well !



Hans ( Dutch Crusader) controls a receiver from the Netherlands to watch Dutch TV and has been my 'guinea pig' - watching freesat UK channels - often while his good lady watches the Dutch channels..



The secret to success with Sling is the UPLINK.. most UK ADSL links won't give you this..



With a receiver that pauses and records you can watch ALL free to air UK TV channels when you want.. the UK websites don't often allow live feeds and there are time limits on recalling a series... Storing it on your own receiver - feeding via Sling gets around this issue.



My Private Network allows you to get around the Geo-block ( non UK IP address) that many UK TV websites place .. it is a VPN.. ( Virtual private Network) disguising your Turkish IP and making it SEEM like you are located in the UK ...



To make a VPN work you still need a reliable local ISP - with a reliable backbone link...
