Best to speak to the lawyer that did the first conveyance. We had the same situation a few years ago. My Mother owned our garden, she died and we had to transfer it. Our Muchtar gave us a real hard time, but we went to the courts in Lefkosia and got it sorted 'over his head'!

There is a noter called Unsal Gurok opposite the law courts in Girne. He is the retired Land registry officer and he knows everything there is to know and a fraction of the cost of a lawyer. Go to him and ask his advice. He speaks perfect english

Better to go with a professional ..İt is an immovable property so do not take risk and go to a lawyer..ı have had the same prob and sorted out in a short period of time...

@geoff..ıf the new owner (the new name on the title) does not have the permission to purchase the name can not be changed..it is completely the same procedure as to purchasing a property..new name = new buyer.

Marc,

I assure you Unsal Gurok is a professional. He knows at least if not far more than any lawyer here. He is honest and costs a fraction of what Cypriot lawyers charge and as a certifying officehe can do all that can be done with Kocan's

If you have a good notar don't waste time on a so-called lawyer. These chancers got rich and started charging £1000-plus for "conveyencing" just because a bunch of mugs who should never have come to Cyprus started paying them what they asked.

Not all lawyers are the same - we have heard good about the Advokat who is Ismet's wife have we not?

Ask Elko2 for his thoughts he seems to be in the know.

I bought a flat in 1996, gave it to my daughter when I bought a house in 2002. Bought land in 2006 and had to sell the house. All these were done using Unsal with his advise as to the cheapest way of doing things and he has never steered me wrong and I have saved 1000's believe me
