nNice bit of italian, message 9, but I thought it was ' a causa del mio lavoro' NOT per la causa. But who am I to say, I lived there per un anno solamente.

Dico io anche, se messagio numero uno vuole incontrarmi, poi sono congtenta, ma, comme ho detto prima, no posso avere Work |Permit a causa che sono 'yabanci', e nome del'abergo et?????

Hope you find someone, but what horrible hours and horrible wages are on offer.

Oh! thanks for correcting me..you're right everyone can make a mistake...however 6 years better than 1 year :D isn't it?

" anch'io dico che sarei contento (because you are not a woman..not contenta) se l'autore del primo messagio vuolesse incontrare con me. Pero come prima l'avevo detto, non posso ottenere il permesso di lavoro a causa di essere lo straniero...."

after that i didn't understand what you mean by writting "e nome del'albergo et?"

From my limited attempts to learn Italian 25 years ago I guess "e nome del'abergo et" translates as

"and the name of the hotel is?"

i.e an open question leaving out the "what" at the end

Harold (Thinks he is a polyglot he does)

wot a CLEVER LOT OF POLYGLOTS WE ARE. GOOD INN IT.

and althoughI agree with Guido that Italian is an art (best practised by the Italians themselves - I merely learned it to survive where no one else spoke english - 20 years ago!), and I agree that living there for 6 years is better than 1 (wish I could have!), and although i disagree with the 'contento' perche sono una donna, and |I think it is great to chat away with our good, bad and ugly Italian (and yes, Harold you are right - and the name of the hotel is...?) this is not helping message No.1 to find anyone. Just hope they do, as it seems that most of us are ineligible because we are 'yabanci', 'stranieri; saesneg and in fact everything that is NOT wanted. Good luck!

"Wop" a load of tripe. Is this an advert or an Italian chat line. Please close the thread Admin its serving no purpose now.

Sorry Bazil but it is more of a spaghetti thread - certainly not tripe as the Italians don't favour it too much.

I think I have said before that I hope they find the person they are seeking, so it would be unfair to delete the thread - or maybe they should start another one.

:Personally I find it fun finding those who bring back memories of Le Bella Italia - and without seeming a trifle rude - you don't have to read it Bazil, but could read something else of fix up some pipes for people with leaks and leave us to our little bit of dreams.

No insult intended, but I think the originator of this would probably be upset if his advert disappeared cos you don't like the thread. Maybe they should start again!

Hi Marion,

as far as the language is concerned, you should call it a day.

Guido is right, a bit an art really, and you haven't got it

Da vero. never said I had 'the art' - just had a toad of an Italian boyfriend and a job as an English teacher. But I sitll hope that the original poster gets the person they want.
