Can anyone give me information on the availability of private medical insurance in the TRNC? I am about to move to Lapta and my UK insurance will not extend cover.

Try Anthony at FMA they have a product that covers all countries including TRNC thro' a UK company. I am looking at present and prices appear reasonable compared to other quotes I have had. Tel:(009) 0392 815 8275 email:

The cheapest one I've seen is the BRS recommended one. See their website: http://www.brstrnc.com/

Hello. I am also interested in private medical insurance. I found this thread very helpfull. Except message 2. Why are these people allowed to post such rubbish. In my opinion such posts spoil Cyprus44. I just goes to show these people have little better to do with their lives

We just got is banks anadolu health insurance. family of 3 with 2 year old boy 3777tl . We paid in full so we got a large discount. 80% of visits and 100% operations plus full checkup. you can pay according to different installment plans. You can go to any doctor or hospital on the island and they will refund you in a month. I went to Near East hospital this week and just paid 14 tl for my appointment because they have an agreement. We can also use the insurance in Turkey or any other country in case of serious illnesses or operations. If you need the agents phomne number I can post it, there are quite a few agents on the island, but my one gives a slightly lower price for us for our car insurance also. Hope this helps.

Lionheart: you might find it either very difficult and/or very expensive to get medical insurance cover if your age is correct on your profile. You may well be better to put a lump sum of money into a 'ring fenced' savings account for any future medical needs. At least this way, you have the money under your control and if you don't need to use it, it's still in your bank account and not the insurance company's!

I would like to ask if anyone has ever had any experience of a claim on a policy for anything that would be considered a serious illness with any company here? C

Pixie, I envy you being able to get health insurance so reasonably. Having a 2 year old child I am assuming you are quite young. Try getting insurance when you are 60+ I know it is possible but the cost is absolutely prohibitive. Its a different thing altogether, believe me!!

Had a quote last week from Astute Financial for just over £1000 / year. Covers all countries except U.S.A. (I think medical costs are high there)
