what amount of tobacco prodocts can u fetch back from north cyprus

since its my first time abroad and to north cyprus i was wondering how much cheap tobacco u are aloud to fetch back cos i smoke, my friend smokes whos looking after my cats so i wanna fetch sum back for me n her and my partner,so it would be good to know what i can or cant do as to fetching tobacco back home!!!thanks

A couple of packets (20s) is about the legal limit. Be prepared to pay a fine and have any more than that confiscated... sorry but that's the reality.

Groucho is correct in that that is the amount you are allowed to take over the Green Line to fly from Larnaca or Paphos. If you fly from Ercan yhen you are bound by the UK Duty free allowance. I believe that this is 200 cigarettes but I don't know about rolling tobacco.

Always put two cartons in luggage and one in hand luggage when going from Ercan, never had a problem.

Mind you, that was sometime ago - UK is too dirty and expensive for me. I see the smoking Gestapo are in full swing,

Troodo, well you would say that wouldn't you... just to convince yourself that smoking is somehow cool and not at all Nazi-like.. go on then... fire at one end and a fool at the other.

If you are flying from Ercan it seems you should be prepared for your 'stash' to be mysteriously nicked en-route. They know you can't kick-up a fuss because you are breaking the law.
