Barry snakes,as he composes his own tracks,sings well and is an outstanding guitarist......I can't think of his name but Washerman's Son is also a fine guitarist ................Rock on.........

There are many,also some good local musicians,try the tunnel rock bar near to the colony hotel,if its rock music you like.

You missed a great night a few weeks ago when a band called pearl did there opening summer 1st gig,it was a great night.

Also a 1 man band called snakes/barry,also very good.He played last night @ the aqua park in catalkoy,a great night.



Depends i suppose what your looking for,they all have there own good points.

As a band Pearl must come out on top but last night I saw the outlaws and they were extremely good. Barry Snakes is the best singer guitarist using backing tracks. These are of course only my opinions.

MartinD41 the young man you are referring to is Paul's son Dan who,as you rightly say is a very talented young guitarist who plays alongside his father in the great band "Pearl" a pure coincidence is that I had the pleasure of playing with Pearl's bass player and singer Bob way back in 1977 ! Unfortunately, I was in the UK when they played their last concert but will definately be at the next ! regards Barry

There's a real dearth of talent. But, as Omaintenance says 'one man's medicine....' - there's karaoke, guitar-eoke and some 'bands' playing the usual mix of covers far too loud. I saw a band in Bristol last night that were a proper band, played tightly, had a sound man that knew about getting the best sound for the venue and they played some nice tracks - not my bag but...It's something I miss in North Cyprus, although I, too, have heard good things about Pearl.

Spot on Anthony ...every city (or even large town) in the UK has a more vibrant, diverse and hip music scene than has the TRNC ....that's no criticism of those playing here but keep it in perspective, eh?

yes shes great but too modern for the general public here unfortunately, need a band for her or a keyboard player who knows fairly up to date songs .. not easy to find here unfortunately, if you hear her sing songs by Adele you would be mesmerized !!!!
