Is it only Lapta Muktars who charge for 'services'?

Self explanatory;



Having read the other week that the Muktars are going to be paid half the minimum wage and are deserving because the job leaves them out of pocket, why do Lapta Muktars charge every time they sign a form?



I believe the boys in Alsancak don't charge, where else?

Ozankoy Muktar charges too, 10tl for a residency letter and when I took some forms up the other day, 5tl for every page that needed his mark!!!!!



He made 30tl in seconds, .bless him

Lapta muktar doesn't just charge you have to take your own stamps with you as well!

Only some of the Alsancak Muhtars charge. One of them doesn't. If he does as well then he's started only very recently. He told us a couple of years back that Muhtars were not supposed to charge and that they were paid for doing their job. (plus all ther perks that go with the position - this is my comment!!)

Bahçeli does, - 10 TL. However, he is much cheaper than his predecessor who charged us 150 TL for 3 residency forms and then another 40 TL for another in order I could present an original to Customs for my chattels in transit to be allowed entry. Talk about being 'seen off'.

Avril,msg 8,had to get forms from Gunay on Monday for the residency,went in to see him at the bank and met him at his office 2 minutes later,did the forms and he even went and got the other 2 signitures even though I told him I could get hold of Minerva and Cemal to sign them.I asked him how much for the stamps and he said nothing,government pays for the stamps.

There is more than 1 Muhtar in Lapta, and I guess I have always been going to the one that charges. Which one do you go to Chris?

left lapta a year ago - had to get the local Mukta in Lapta to sign my container papers (4 in all) & charged me 100ytl for 5 mins work.



Usually used Ali Tosun who has always charged but the other Muktah took the piece big time. He got one of his customers to fill the forms in & he just signed them & then had the cheek to ask why we are leaving.



Maybe they are that thick ??

Karsiyaka charged me last year at a rate of 10tl per letter and that was the first time I was charged since Lapta took over the accounting etc

Gooligan, we've also always been charged by mukhtar in Esentepe, 10tl each. Friends were also charged same amount last week. But next time will come with you LOL !!

Re Lapta Muhktars, you need to be aware that they are only supposed to sign forms if you live in their area and they do seem to be tightening up on this. My one for the Turkish quarter (the barber's shop in the village) was away last July when I needed the residency form and I had a hell of a job getting another one to sign. Eventually got Tosun to do it but he didn't really want to.

Girne Muhktar charges 10tl for everything he signs.



He even tried us for 20tl each (residency forms) this year. I refused and told him it was 10tl. He said OK!!!
