Turkish Coffee - it is a fundamental part of Turkish Cypriot culture. This is the topic for next Saturday's Drivetime show on Bayrak International Radio.

Do you drink it? Sade, Orta or Şekerli??

Do you know how to make it?

Has anyone read your coffee cups? Or perhaps you read people's coffee cups?

How accurate have the readings been?

Please share your thoughts and feel free to call in on the day on 0392 225 2390.

Listen on 87.8 105fm from 6 till 10pm

i drink it,orta, but i much prefer nescafe i also can make it

i have had my coffee cup read on many occasions but this is after a night of conversation with them, so i do find it quite funny when they read my cup and they tell me all the things that ive already told them,so obviously they are accurate

Thanks Vonny - I love the way people tell you things you told them.

I like mine orta. I love reading people's cups - I don't know if I'm accurate but I just say what I see like Catchphrase hehe

When I was around 14 years of age, because she had no daughters to help out, my mum taught me how to make coffee for the neighbors visiting our place. I found it quite easy, but it really p***ed me off when she also asked me to help her by serving it on the tray! As a growing young boy, I found it very embarrassing and sulked, but being complemented by so many ladies as to how nice a coffee I make, soon cheered me up!

The ladies favorite pass time was then (around 40 years ago) and still is "making shapes out of the coffee sediment, and fortune telling that ran around the sides once the cup was turned over. All a bunch of lies and fairy stories of course! What usually was (and is) said would apply to most people and after a while it gets very boring. Funny enough, the sediment does leave a lot of shapes that can be perceived as a human being or beings, a road, a mountain, a face, an animal, a bird, a fish, a flower etc. The rest is left ones imagination

I have lived without it

Tooi much Turkish coffee stains my teeth. (So does other coffee, but not as badly). But please I am overdue on a fortune telling, so for you, Olive Tree, I will drink a cup of Turkish (orta - cos sekerli makes me fatter!) and you can tell my fortune -p on the radio if you like, then we can all have a chuckle.

When I lived in the south (dare I mention it?) I used to drink Greek coffee. Identical isn't it? And the making is the same, but I could not be bothered, even though i still have a proper container fo rmaking it.

also I am a coffee addict, and the turkish coffee/Greek coffee/ italian coffee cups are jus t too small for an addict.

But you can't tell fortunes from nescafe1 So, come on - help!

My husband goes regularly to this lady from his village in Saniurfa, (who now lives here in Karsiyaka). It worries me that he believes absolutely everything she says.......

Lots of things have come true....... but I'm not convinced.

She is supposed to be a 'falci', but she doesn't charge.

I've had mine done a couple of times, but I don't like Turkish coffee and really have to force myself to drink it.

And because she doesn't speak any English, I wonder how much is 'Lost In Translation'.

Sometimes she yawns, and apparently its because you have a clean heart !!!! Lol

Whynot try to get a faclci on Saturday night. You could translate, Sirin She could read the cups of all the staff and then later they could say if it was true. All I want to know is WHEN do I win the Lotto - and yes, will I live to be 150 and fit?
