''The reason the Tour Operator was reluctant to book you for North Cyprus, was because this is an illegal so-called state. Not recognised by other countries or any international body. Therefore no insurance will cover you, you could end up in jail for no reason, you could get attacked, you could have an accident and no embassy or private organisation or public/state department will be able to reach you/get you out/help you. You go there on your own risk. They are also reluctant to help you, because recently EU courts have ruled that people staying at Greek-Cypriot property, illegally occupied by Turkish armed forces (as, for example, hotels built on stolen property in northern Cyprus ) could be fined/penalised. So understandably, noone is willing to take that risk. Think about it, and play it safe when it comes to holidays''.
