I need a duvet and pillows but have no idea where to shop here for them. Cannot get them from Uk yet and need them asap for guests. Is there anywhere in Lefkosa or do I need to go south?

Ikea's probably the cheapest and has the most variety. I bought one from Mermaid a couple of years ago which they had imported from UK, price wasn't too bad for over here.

got ours from stylewise on the main froad from kyrenia to arapkoy. i must say i was very impressed with the quality and price. we were a bit dubious as to quality when we ordered them without seeing them , but they are feather and the pillows very thick . we also got towels from them . i would recommend them to anyone.

I hate feather ones... the pointy ends keep appearing from within the pillow ticking and pricking you... ouch! Plus hypo-allergenic polyester filled ones can be washed in the machine and dry again within the day here... feather ones have a habit of the filling ending up in a soggy mess at one end of the pillow or duvet and are hopeless... You really don't need the high tog duvets here even in the dead of winter it is not as cold as the UK..... Even if you are a soft southern b*stard... ;¬)

Nearly all the curtain shops sell them + Toros upstairs. Unfortunately Stylewise has closed.

Gill stopped eating peas in bed, oh literally weeks ago now.... I've never seen the fascination with having feather stuffed pillows... I have a goose down skiing jacket... it weighs a ton and even that gives me the odd jab! Usually when I'm fully kitted up and at the top of the mountain... not a good time to get undressed and remove the offending feather...

Imagine how a duck feels. No wonder they spend a lot of time sitting still. And the racket they make whilst flying. Down to the feathers I suppose.

Duvets are definitely over-priced here... make sure you get standard sizes for the duvet covers you have as they seem to go in for some odd sizes... good hypo-allergenic pillows can be brought in Astro and they are cheap enough.

Thanks everyone. Been to Fiskos and Toros today. Not too bad prices but may visit Ikea although we thought you were not permitted to bring large items back from south. Don't do duck down/feathers etc for several reasons but again thanks to you all for your advice.

It is not the size that matters it is the quantitiy!!!!!!!! Can anyone advise as to if the governement finally increased to 260tl the value brought back? The law was if value was over 130tl there would be duty to pay. However recently they have been undecided to increase to 260tl.
