Salam

A turkish friend, who lives in Lapta, has asked me to help her look for cleaning work in the Lapta/ Alsancak area.

She is married and has just given birth to a beautiful little girl. Hubby works but they are struggling financially.

She was a cleaner before baby arrived - working for a company in Lefkosa.

She is really nice and trustworthy and her house is always spotless. She would have to bring baby with her though - she is only 6 weeks old!

Can you help? If so please email me.

Thanks

I really wish your friend lived closer (Ozankoy/Catalkoy) but/and wish her and her family so much good luck. I will ask amongst friends that are closer and will get back to you if any interest (fingers crossed )

Bye

I think there is a lot of 'pocket money' business going on here - from people selling home made products at markets, people working on resident permits etc.

But i think if its less than a certain number of hours a week you don't need a work permit. Hopefully checking is not top priority for the authorities as a lot of people will be in trouble.

She has a permission to live here because her husband has a work permit.

Maybe someone could confirm above then you would not be guilty if only a few hours a week.

Thanks

Unfortunately, if you 'work' at all for wages in the eyes of the law you need a work permit, unless of course you are TC or married to one who has his kimlik card, but I think she would be well down the list of people the authorities will be pursuing

had to double check first as wasn't 100% sure - but friends hubby is Cypriot so she doesn't need a work permit!!! I knew all his family lived here but wasn't sure if they were Cypriot or not.

Email me or ring me if you wish to discuss further 0533 847 85 34

I would think as many as possible - no transport as such although hubby does have use of father's car some time -

but you are on the main road so she would take a Dolmus. She is by lapta high school - so it's not too far for her to come.

no she doesn't but my husband does and I can speak a little Turkish, It would be no problem for us to get together and draw up a list of jobs - that way she can just get on with it - you will be surprised how easy it is to communicate with English and actions etc she is well used to it with me....

Can you ring after 3? I'm working before then and unable to take calls.

many thanks

Lilli...if you are thinking of giving the lady in question some work and she needs transport let me know what the arrangements are (Lilli, you have my number)

More than willing to collect/drop her off and return home if needed.

Hope this young lady finds something soon.

Does she need a baby sitter to enable her to find work?

If so let me know as I would be willing to help her out.

Was a creche worker many years ago and as my babies (aged 21 & 29!!)

are too big for cuddles I would be more than happy to cuddle a 6 week old for a few hours if it helps this couple out.

Puppylover,

thanks for your offer, but she is breastfeeding and needs to keep baby with her.

She is adorable too - really sweet and well cuddly (baby that is).

Thanks again.

If any one is put off by the baby - don't be - once fed she sleeps sound and if you pay for the job not the time - if she takes longer then it is not your time!

If its the fact she doesn't speak English - again - don't be put off - pointing and miming works wonders........ she wants to learn English!
