Just reading in the Cyprus Today the new deal being sorted between the South and Kibtek, amazing how they can deal with illegal entities in an illegal state when it suits. Really shows how hypicritical the South are and how the TRNC government is trying to show some goodwill even though it will fall on deaf ears in the long run. I realise they are not supplying the electric for free but I can't help thinking if the shoe was on the other foot the South wouldn't reciprocate. Paul

Think you will find that the South has supplied the North with electricity several times. I believe 2006 was the last significant time when there was an explosion during routine maintenance work at the Kib-tek power station, people who were around then will remember the power failures at the time!

In fact the agreement was negotiated and concluded with the South's Chamber of Commerce specifically because it is a non-government organisation and therefore would not constitute any from of recognition.

Does that mean that now that they have been involved in a transaction with the North that they are now recognising it? No, it means they are afraid of the consequences of telling the electorate thay can't use their lights and stuff, and they need a get out clause for being so stupid as to site a munitions dump rigth next to a major peice of infrastructure (or vice sersa) . I mean, how thick can anyone ever get.
