| After nice meal at Jakaranda in Girne, 4 of us were lured into the Ego bar next door, by big sign claiming "best cocktails in Cyprus"
No price list but we thought it couldnt be too expensive, so just ordered. The drinks were ok although hubbys mohito had lemons instead of limes and when he queried, was told that maybe its the first one he had ever had so didnt know any better! When he said that he had drunk them in Havana she just shrugged and said they didnt have limes!
The bill came, 8 drinks cost 160TL, which was more than the lovely meal we had just had!
As we were complaining amongst ourselves, waitress obviously thought we weren't going to pay as she discreetly beckoned a man over who was possibly the manager, but when she saw we had out to pay, she signed, again discreetly, for him to go away.Had feeling that complaints were often made when the bill arrives!
A Turkish friend said it would only have cost him 60TL if he was buying there.
A right rip off, beware :( |

| I've always thought the cocktails in the VIP roof terrace opposite the Rocks are very good value at 12TL to 15TL each.
So 8 would be a maximum of 120TL (and they are very strong, particularly the Long Island Iced Tea)

| I should add that you would always expect to pay more around the harbour area, which includes VIP and Ego Bar |
