I am in UK and it came up something about by not identifying the page, I then went to google and clicked the msn.com and it came up - strange.

Im glad its not just me, my hotmail has been terrible for weeks, it lets me sign in and then just wont go any further, an error page keeps coming up as though the internet is down...doesnt happen on any other website.

It let me sign in and then came up with an Extend 404 error page, this happened twice. I looked at a couple of other sites then went back to it and found my Inbox open - so far so good now!

I had no trouble today. I am '.com' - maybe others are '.co.uk' or another and that makes a difference. A couple of days ago it was down nearly all afternoon - I kept getting the message "Hotmail cannot process your request now - please try later"

But I am fast getting fed up with the new Hotmail and its constant stream of irrelevant ads. My machine isn't the fastest and these animated graphics visibly slow it down.

I have a Gmail account which is much better, like Jovial John I got sick of the constant adverts and flashing banners.

Gmail is easy to set up and a shorter email address to Hotmail.

Try for yourselves set up is very, very easy.

The trouble is I have had my hotmail address for over 30 years and it is known to so many people. I also have a Yahoo account so I am going to try and link hotmail into that.

I have Deniz 1 propblem too. Can;'t change my password as it tells me 'temporarily unavailable' - 5 weeks now!!!! But that is on a new e mail for The Star. Comes in O.K but I can't send out.

also Cyberspace seems to be unkind at the moment to many of us in N.Cyprus. E mails bounce back as undeliverable, unsendable, and some of us are in despair because there is nothing we can do but wait until cyberspace is kinder to us.

I have never has a problem either sending or receiving mails with hotmail (provided the service is up) or Yahoo. Maybe it is your Star service that is the 'cyberspace' problem. Not criticising - just questioning.

Let's hope we all have better news by next week then! It seems that cyberspace is operating embargoes on us from on high! Nah! it is just my fertile imagination - problems the storm weather up above the clouds so high. I hope so!

Apparently the problem with hotmail was down to it being cloudy today. Or Microsoft broke it. Or something.

see link for the excuses:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/news/8752156/Millions-of-Hotmail-users-cut-off-by-Microsoft-cloud-failure.html

As previous posters have mentioned, gmail seems a better bet anyway, and it's smart to have a 'spare' email account in case something gets broken, or cloudy ....

And would you believe that I swtill can't change my password, I am still getting: - There's a temporary problem

There's a temporary problem with the service. Please try again. If you continue to get this message, try again later.'

and I cannot find anyone to whom I can write. I have tried. So hotmail is cooling off in my estimation!
