We took a ride up to this yesterday, firstly the road is fantastic it only took around an hour to get there from Ozankoy.

The marina is spectacular and to our surprise there were quite a few yachts moored there which contributed greatly to the overall ambience. The quality and finishes of the buildings, fixtures, fittings and furniture greatly exceed anything we have seen here and the restaurant (Hemingways) has a good menu and serves excellent food.

To put it succinctly it is a WORLD CLASS FACILITY here in Northern Cyprus!

However we understand that the TRNC Customs are refusing to have an office there which currently means that foreign boats have to clear Customs first in Girne or Famagusta. In order to have an office there the Customs have requested a building (fair enough) plus 20% of the mooring fees (!!!).

This displays the short-sightedness of the TRNC Government as there would be huge spin-offs from such a facility with shops, other restaurants, houses, car hire, etc

What fees are paid in Girne & Famagusta? You would expect the same rules to apply?
