8TL at the cheese factory in the village next to the 'Blue House'. Good fun watching the ladies making the cheese separating the curds & whey and if the owner is on hand she may offer a tasting with biscuits.

http://www.consumerpressuregroup.com ?

See if you can beat the other prices there and help us all make ends meet.

Poor firewall configuration on this website is still preventing multimax users from visiting this website. K.

Probably Yusuf Akmandor in Camlibel. Great hellim, great nor. Not easy to find, though.

Gavin

Sorry, I'm in the UK packing for NZ so do not have my reference books on-hand to write the exact village name, but I'm sure those that have visited the 'Blue House' will furnish the adjacent village name on this thread. It starts with 'C' from memory however, when there, visit the village cafe/pub in the main square and ask for the owner (cousin of the cheese factory owner) or ask anyone of the locals that speak/understand English and you'll be directed, about 1/4 mile away down narrow streets. The large village bar is great, old Turkish male type but women are welcome and the table setting outside is serene. Best to visit after the 'Blue House' tour.

you need to look for "koy hellimi" supermarkets are mass production. You can't beat koy hellimi might pay bit more but worth it. Specially mature hellim.

At Çamlibel turn left just before the entrance to the Turkish army base, keep going past the PX store and past another army base and a local school until you reach the square with a restaurant frequented by brits. At the square turn right (the sign says Karpasa), keep going past a couple of intersections until you see Yuzuf Akmandor dairy factory on the right. If you start seeing cars with GC numbers (it's a Maronite village) and a church on the left it means you went too far.
