There is a really good one on the main road in Alsancak, Ali, but I cannot remember the name of his salon. It is the one opposite the Golden Lady, not he one next to where Guido's used to be.

Nac at the Cutting Room gets my vote, tried a lot of hairdressers, had a lot of horror cuts, but the search ended when I found Cutting Room.

Here is a list of some of the hair dressers, if you click on any of the interactive map links inside the business cards for each hairdresser the map will appear.

The map will also show some hotels as guide points and if you first click on a hotel near the location you will be staying and select << from here >> and then click on the hairdresser flag and select << to here >> it will show a route from by toad with directions in the right hand panel.

By far and away and the best "cutters" are at Chicago. If you just want to have the same old, same old that you've had for years then decent hairdressers are ten a penny. However if you want some "style" then go to Chicago. They have a very special deal on at the moment. Go on, give yourself a treat!!

Actually I now have another "man" which I rate above Hasan (I've told Hasan!!) Not going to mention him though because I've told so many people that I can no longer just walk in off the street any more. I actually have to make an appointment these days - shucks.

Directions to Cutting Room from Girne centre. Go past the hospital and past Pia Bella hotel. Take a left turn at the island and go down the road towards the new harbour. On your left you will see a Ko-op shop and you should turn left after it.. You will pass AK market and a nursery school on your right. Cutting Room is on the next right corner.

Telephone 0392 815 9151 or 0542 851 4162.

Been going to Chicago since they opened and have been quite happy BUT I always have Hasan to do my hair and have realised that all these special offers they have do not include him, so I am going to try Naj.

Naji is a very good cutter but also she advises you about your hair. She wont colour it if she thinks it will be harmful whereas most of the others just want to take your money.

I have been both to Nultan and Nac - both excellent hairdressers - could not fault the cut or colour - but - due to stress of various kinds several years ago (and old age of course!!) my once thick hair became thinner and thinner and started to recede badly. I even thought about cutting it off and buying a wig - but in this climate!! Anyway a few months ago a friend of mine went to Chicago - she praised the whole experience so much that I thought I would give it a go. I had my hair done by Sihan and they asked if I would be interested in trying a new combination of serum, conditioner and shampoo to thicken it. I was a bit sceptical but decided to give it a go and I am absolutely delighted with the result. They are all very good but my choice is Chicago.

I'm always concered about people who "would never go anywhere else" I used to say that back in the UK and when I came over here I realised it meant in fact that I was stuck in a rut. Look back over the years and look at photo's of yourself? Are the hairdo's all much of a muchness or indeed not very flattering?

Had my hair done today and it's fabulous, l love it!! l took a friend with me today who had not been before, she was just going for a blowdry...........couple of hours later she came out with a new style and new colour, new woman. Serdar did a fantastic job, you made her feel really good.

Give us a try at Nulten Oral. We are also a City & Guilds Training School.

I would just like set the record straight as stated in a post in another thread, That I do not do Mobile hairdressing, nor have I ever in the past, so that member has got her information wrong.

Kind Regards

Sue

I think many of us also feel a loyalty to someone who has done our hair for years without making mistakes and all at a very reasonable price. I am very happy with myhairdresser, but if anything happened to her, then I would think of looking elsewhere and there are a couple I would certainly try.

I like to experiment (yes, I know some of you remember the pink fringe! - and I might do it again this year) and my hair dresser loves me for it.

so, I am happy with Bonita in Kyrenia, but she knows me, an knows my hair. One should always give a new hairdresser a chance to get to know you before you decide whether to stick to them.

good luck in your quest message 1.

I go to Nulten Oral, who also has a City and Guilds qualification, and is trained to train hairdressers. She is in Girne (but is opening another branch near Lapta, I believe). Her present establishment is in the same road as the HSBC Bank in Girne, which changes into the 'High Street' as it goes into town. Once you get to the Turk Bank on your right, park and you will see an opening between the shops on the Turk Bank side which takes you into a central courtyard surrounded by flats. The salon is on the left. The service is excellent; she listens to what you want and is sensitive.

For years, I would have rather gone to the dentist than the hairdressers. Yep, I've had a few really bad experiences. I moved to Northern Cyprus, again, petrified of going to a new hairdresser.

For two years, I used Naci, she did me proud every time.

Chicago's opened in Karaoglanoglu, and being closer to where I live, I gave them a try. I am also happy with Hasan.

After reading this post, I think we should all agree, how lucky we are to have such a brilliant choice of hairdressers iin such a small area.

Thank you to all of you for making us feel good.

Hi Jean...its Sam.

Neil Anthony 0533 8460659 .................EVERYTIME for colour or cut. But for a blow dry you can go anywhere local, they're all ok if you tell them to take the heat down a bit and I always take a good quality leave in conditioner/blowdry protectorwith me - there's one called Gamze in Lapta not far from the post office, she's good for general blow dries and beauty 0392 821 2694.

Sorry I missed you last time you were over......definately have a drink when you're next here!!!
