I am thinking of returning to the UK, recently bought a car here and wondered if I went back to the UK and took the car could I reclim the tax on the car and also what would I have to pay when I reach the UK.

Only a thought at the moment and it could be a very stupud one at that. Just thought if we could get 40% back it might make it worth it .

Not sure about the tax, but friends of ours took theirs back last year and had loads of problems at the UK end, said they would never advise anyone to take a car back. I think it was because of the TRNC not being recognised, eventually got it sorted but caused them a lot of headaches.

The UK will allow you to import a car if you have owned it for more than 1 year and not charge you the tax.



No way will it refund tax that you have paid to any other country
