Kayalar To Paphos - Best Road To Use

Help needed please!



Normally friends and family coming to visit have flown into Larnaca but in a couple of weeks we have family flying into Paphos.



My question: is it easier to go over the border at Metahan and pick up the road to Paphos or because we are already in Kayalar is it easier to go over a crossing nearer to us geographically??



Any advise and even directions would be greatly appreciated.

The new crossing at kato Pyrgos is a very nice run and much more interesting than the boring motorway route via Metahan. It is also significantly shorter in distance. It will however probably take you slightly longer as the run is quite winding as it goes through the edge of the Troodos.

Directions: Take the road to Gazelyurt and look for signs to Lefke. Take the Lefke road out of gazelyurt and then just follow that road. Next signs are for Yesilmark which takes you straight to the border. Once on the Greek side, stay on the same road and eventually you will pick up signs for Polis. In Polis you will pick up signs for Pafos. You are looking at around 2 and half hours. Enjoy.

Not sure whether they have insurance facilities on the Greek side so may be wise to have insurance in place before you go.

You can only get insurance at Metahan.



I think do the dual carriage way to Lefkosa,Metahan,Your normal Motorway towards Larnaca,but then take the Paphos turn

For a bonnie run I agree with msg 2 but if you just want to get there and back as quickly as possible I agree with msg 3.

If you are planning to take the motorway route, stick to the speed limits. We counted four separate radar traps (not cameras) between Limassol and the Paphos airport turn-off.
