Does anyone know whether Pegasus will be operating flights from Manchester in 2012 ? There is no "Manchester" option on their list of departure airports but they had said that they would be flying from there mid May 2012 onwards.

I e-mailed them - finally getting aresponse no flights are currently scheduled from manchester and referred me to Stansted. It took them a month to reply despite a reminder. I have booked Turkish airlines - Pegasus loss 6 tickets.

The answers from http://www.cyprus44.com/forums/77667.asp

Msg 7 - What about Pegasus from Manchester not every one wants to travel for hours to reach an airport - everything seeems to be geared towards the london airports.

Msg 9 - Ken Msg 7 - Is that prejudice I detect, what about Birmingham, Glasgow, Belfast etc.

The trouble is that to make it work the airline has to pre-sell enough seats to tour operators to make the flight viable. So you need to help the tour operator by wanting to buy their package holidays but only from your best airport (Birmingham for me)!

If you want help talk top travel agents like us at flightholiday (0871 855 2925 / + 441594 544 077 or info@flightholiday.co.uk ) agents are always happy to help.

Totally agree 'flightholiday' we used to be able to fly direct from Glasgow to Ercan (via turkey of course), but KTHY stopped Glasgow flights in 2007, a year after we'd bought in TRNC!!! Now we fly from Glasgow to Stansted and get a connecting flight with whoever is cheapest. It takes up about 10 hours to get there which is rediculous. I know we could fly from Glasgow to Larnaca, but we choose to fly to Ercan to support the local community rather than the ROC. The weekly flight from Glasgow to Ercan was always full so don't understand why it stopped apart from perhaps Glasgow Airport is expensive for the airlines? Even Edinburgh would be great?

I know a lot of people complain about having to go via Turkey, but I would love it if that was the only 'detour' we had to do!!!!

Moyra Msg 6 - You must be one of the many travelers we sold to from Glasgow, Birmingham, Gatwick and Northern Ireland who were all stranded. KTHY tried to make the routes work but they did not have much success as many agents knew nothing of them (not that CTA did not let them know).

If there is a problem (or the client asks) we sell the south but like you we try to use and sell Ercan.

We to have given up on Pegasus now Manchester to Ercan and have booked direct/online with TA again about three weeks ago. Thought the cost of the tickets was reasonable given the generous luggage allowance and food etc included. Transfer at Istanbul may put some folks off, but have done it once before and even though plane from Manchester was delayed by about an hour, the connecting plane was waiting for the transferring passengers. A bit of a rush through Istanbul but all ok in the end. Flights back no problems with connections and had sufficient time to look around Istanbul airport which I thougt was great. One of the best things is that TA fly in and out of Machester daily so more choice too.

Yes, its a shame that the flights situation has got worse. I always fly to Ercan rather than Larnaca, but at time I am really tempted to land on the Greek side

Its in today's Cyprus Today that Atlasjet are going to start flying to Stansted & Manchester next Spring. Will definitely be a good thing for the North of England passengers. Hope its true, been with Atlasjet to Turkey a few times and we were very impressed with them.
