......I want to know if anyone knows what frequency this will be on so I can watch it in NORTH CYPRUS. I have a 1.8 metre dish, subscribe to Sky World and have HD. I know it will be on channel 408, but I want to see now if I can get the "test frequency" now. No advertising breaks during the race! That's what Sky states. If the safety car comes out, will they put on ads? http://skymail.sky.com/a/hBO1860B7gO5dB8exdfDUYCr2IM/ttcs2-11

As your link say "From next March"...so you are about 3 or 4 months away from the channel even being started. Given the channel wil not start until close to the start of the season, its unlikely there will be any sort of "test" for the channel yet. And so it would be pure guess work as to which of the 100 or so frequencyies available a new channel it will be on in 4 months time.

As I understand it from various satellitev forums this new channel will be on a UK spot-beam, meaning you won't get it here on a 1.8m dish - you'll need at least a 4.2m dish. Geoff

Geoff. I wonder why Sky Sports 1, 2, 3, etc are all on the beam which covers our area? Maybe they are aware (and happy) to receive the extra funding that subscribers give that reside outside the "UK spot beam" that you mention. Otherwise, why not put these premium sport channels on the UK spot beam?
