Last week there was a big thing about a poor British person who broke the law and had vehicle confiscated by customs.



Just to show there is no bias a gentleman (I use term loosley) name of Ali Ozmen Safa had his Jaguar & Bentley confiscated and a fine slapped on him.



He is of course protesting his innocence etc and I am not going to print the full CT article.



However, the last para states TRNC Customs are having an ongoing crack down on vehicles that have not been registered. You have been warned.



PS - talking to a Cypriot friend yesterday about this and he tells me that a GC registered vehicle owned bya Cypriot has been confiscataed under the same sort of rules. So all that are thinking of registering in south to try to get around duties there may well be another avenue closing.
