We have a beautiful 3 bed villa with own large swimming pool in the village of Dogankoy and are intending to let for holiday rentals this incoming season. I would like to hear from those interested in the management of the villa, preferably someone close by with some experience, not a Management Agency. We will be over in and around 18th Jan and can meet with anyone interested.

I'm pretty sure that the original post said 'not a management agency'! ...i.e. they want to pay someone local £5 a month to deal with all their problems

Quite the opposite Beanland. I am well aware of the costs and work involved having had a property here for 10yrs. I would prefer the personal touch with someone who will carry out the management to a professional standard and be well paid for any problems that may arise in my absence. In my opinion this on most occasions does not require the vastly inflated prices demanded by some Management Firms. Am I wrong, to look for the right person for the job?

Hello William, I can understand your thoughts on not wanting to use a management company, however, I too have a large villa with a pool, and I have been using a family run company and they have been brilliant in my absence. My water tank cracked and flooded the roof, I did not realise that my roof needed re-sealing, fortunately it was caught in time and the only repairs were the tank and the roof, it could have been my villa's bedrooms. They found the problem, took photo's, e-mailed them to me every step of the way and had everything sorted and turned around in less than 12 days. It is just a thought, they are not all the same. Good luck though Thunderkat.

It really does not bother me but, why on earth would "poochie" reccomend a property management service from a first time poster's email address? It would have helped save a lot of argument if "poochie" had said "I know the person/company from before... they are relieable because..." etc. instead of being defensive by explaining the contents of her post! It is not a crime if you were aware of and knew a newcomer personally! Furthermore, when recommending someone else, you would not ask them to "please contact..." but suggest they can contact whoever. AND you would not sign off with a "Thank you" after a reccomendation (thanking someone for doing a favor for them?). I would say, some would be qite right in suspecting that this an online advertising gimmick using aliases - rather than asking the others to "look between the lines" perhaps you should be more tactical with your posts and not leave them open to interpretation

So, what exactly are the 'vastly inflated prices' that management companies are charging? I know someone who pays a company £30 per month and they apparently do a good job... although I can't imagine how you manage a property with the personal touch! Do you want them to leave flowers and poetry after they inspect the property? lol! Anyway, good luck with he holiday rentals, don't forget your 10% rental tax! ;)
