We bought a dehumidifier yesterday from ArgosrUs and so far we are very impressed. It seems to be doing "What it says on the tin" - well over 3 litres of water collected in the tank up to now and no condensation at all on the windows this morning. At last we feel optimistic about solving the problems we have had with mould caused by condensation.

We feel confident enough to recommend this machine to anyone experiencing similar problems.

most air-conditioners include a dehumidifier function - it has a water droplet symbol.

Keyholekate: What was the make, model and price of the dehumidifier you purchased? A friend kindly loaned me one this week to try and boy do they work. Extracted half a container of water in the first six hours and what a difference it made. Unbelievable.

Groucho: Interesting post. I have Siemens Model 7002640 air con units installed. The remote has a ‘droplet’ symbol as you mentioned, although I must admit to not knowing what this function was.

Question is, other than setting the remote to this symbol and switching on, do I need to program in any other function?

Second question, do you or any other board members know which would be the most economical to use to achieve the same aim, stand alone dehumidifier or air con unit?

We did check our air con before going down the dehumidifier road and ours does not have this function.

The make is Fagor, model DH10 and price 650TL. If you decide to have a chat with Goksel, you will find him most helpful.
